Before concluding his coastal fiqh with praising Allah and reading salawat and salam to the Prophet, Kiai Anwar explained that he had written it on Sunday night in Sofar 1339 H, coinciding with 1920 M. So, last night was anniversary for that book.
If we count with the Hijri calendar, this book was 1 century and 2 years old. But if we use the Christian calendar, Aisyul Bahri was 99 years old, which is only one more year old.
Unlike his work which we can know when it was written down by just reading the last page of the book, the history of Kiai Anwar Batang still has not been knowing. When and where he was born, when he died, until now I don’t know.
